COMMITTEES & MISSIONS
Financial:
To review and Monitor the financial policies and procedures of the Chamber.
Retail/Wholesale:
To monitor the business sector of Decatur County and make suggestions and recommendations for promoting a positive retail climate.
Tourism:
To promote the area of Decatur County as an excellent area for visit, travel and touring for specific points of interest.
Legislative:
To monitor the impact of federal, state and local laws and ordinances as to the business climate of Decatur County.
Environmental:
To monitor environmental issues affecting Decatur County. To facilitate and/or contribute to meeting specific needs which may develop. To serve as a liaison and to promote the interest of the membership at all levels of state and local government.
Education:
It is the mission of the Greensburg Area Chamber of Commerce Education Committee to serve all levels of educational needs within the community by encouraging awareness of and enhancing the areas educational, cultural and technological opportunities, thereby ensuring responsible citizenship, further learning and productive employment for the people of Greensburg and Decatur County.
Agri-Business:
To promote the interest of the agricultural industry in advancing the economic development opportunities and to provide a communications link fostering interaction between agribusiness, farming and the business sector.
Membership:
To monitor services to the membership and to support Chamber efforts to meet the individual needs of the business industry membership. To create an atmosphere of cooperation and assistance to Chamber members.
Housing:
To be an impetus to assure that suitable housing is available to meet current and future need and offer assistance where needed.
Leadership Decatur County:
The purpose of Leadership Decatur County is to facilitate the development of leadership in Decatur County by educating a group of leaders annually and sending them out to implement their leadership skills. The program, through the development of leaders, will improve the quality of life in Decatur County.
Executive:
To serve as the liaison committee, working closely with the office staff, considering all business of the Chamber.
Annual Banquet:
To provide a social event for the membership that encourages interaction with company employees and mingling with co-members in an atmosphere of relaxation.
Office S.T.A.R. Award Luncheon:
To provide an opportunity for employers to give recognition to employees who have exemplified themselves with their performance at contributing to the productivity of the firm.
Golf Tourney:
To plan an event that will offer a tourney to membership, encouraging interaction in a fun atmosphere.
Economic Development:
To represent the Board of Directors in all matters relating to the Economic Development of Decatur County. Our purpose is to support the Chamber's purpose to retain and create jobs in existing or new business and industry.
Community Enrichment:
To plan events for the membership and community that will offer opportunities for cultural and social interaction. To support community social and recreational programs affecting family and youth development.
