Announcements

The Decatur County 4-H Fair is July 11-July 18

Greensburg Kiwanis Club meets each Tuesday evening at the Greensburg
Country Club at 6:15 P.M.

Greensburg Rotary Club meets every Monday at noon at the Greensburg Country Club. Guests and community based programs are always welcomed. Current officers:

July 4

The annual fireworks display presented by the Decatur County Parks and Recreation Department will be held at dusk at the Decatur County 4-H Fairgrounds. In addition, AM 1330 WTRE will provide a musical soundtrack for the fireworks, for the seventh consecutive year.

Rotary Club Three Quarter Midget Races:

The Miss Decatur County contest will be held at Greensburg Community High
School, beginning at 7:00 pm.

Carnival rides for the Decatur County 4-H Fair open at 6:00 pm, and the
grandstand event, 3/4 Midget Races, begins at 7:00.

July 12

Carnival rides for the Decatur County 4-H Fair open at 5:00 pm, and the
Antique Tractor Pull begins in the grandstand at 6:00.

July 13

The Pedal Tractor Pull at the Decatur County 4-H Fair begins at 2:00 pm.
The Community Vesper Service, officially opening the fair, is at 4:00 pm.
Carnival rides open at 5:00, and the Pickup Truck Drag Races in the
grandstand begin at 5:30. At 6:30, it's the annual Decatur County 4-H in
Revue, with the presentation of 10-year 4-H members, the Public Fashion
Review, and the crowning of the 4-H King and Queen.

July 14

Carnival rides for the Decatur County 4-H Fair open at 6:00 pm, and the
grandstand event, the Figure 8 Derby, begins at 7:00. In addition, Talent
Show competition for those 12 and under begins at 7:00 in the Farm and Home
Center.

At the Decatur County 4-H Fair, the rooster crowing contest is at 7:00 am in
the poultry building, carnival rides open at 6:00 pm, the Tractor Pull in
the grandstand also begins at 6:00, and the Talent Show for those 13-21
begins at 7:00 in the Farm and Home Center.

July 16

The 1997 Decatur County 4-H Fair Parade begins at 5:30, proceeding from
Washington Elementary School to the fairgrounds. Carnival rides open at
6:00, and Bull Riding begins in the grandstand at 7:00.

July 17

Judging of twins, triplets, quadruplets, and boys for the Decatur County 4-H
Fair baby show begins at 8:30 am in the Farm and Home Center. Judging of
girls is at 1:00. Carnival rides open at 6:00, the Mud Bog is at 6:30 in
the grandstand, and the Tom Swain Showmanship Contest is at 6:30 in the Show
Arena.

July 18

The Decatur County 4-H Fair Livestock Sale is at 2:00 pm in the Show Arena.
Carnival rides open at 6:00, 4-H awards are presented at 6:30 in the Farm
and Home Center, and the Demolition Derby is at 7:00 in the grandstand.

Epic recording group The Sons Of The Desert, currently in the top 10 of the
country charts with their debut single "Whatever Comes First", will play in
a free listener appreciation concert sponsored by AM 1330 WTRE at Greensburg
Community High School at 7:00 pm. Listen to WTRE for details on how to pick
up your free tickets.
